EYE EXAMINATIONS

MY EXAM

Your school, workplace or aged care residence will provide you with the forms necessary to allow us to register your interest and consent, the details we require to bulk-bill the eye exam (such as Medicare card details) and your responses to a short questionnaire outlining your visual and eye history so we can look after all your needs appropriately.

On the day we visit you, your Vision4 optometrist will conduct a thorough eye examination to assess both vision and eye health.

We will test for the following:

  • Clarity of vision (short sightedness, long-sightedness and astigmatism)

  • Amblyopia (lazy eye)

  • Accommodation (focussing ability)

  • Eye muscle control

  • Binocular vision (the eyes’ ability to work as a team)

  • Colour vision

  • Depth perception, and

  • Eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, etc..)

Following the eye examination, the optometrist will discuss the results and recommendations (where appropriate) and you will have access to these in hardcopy format provided to you through your school, employer or residence or via email if preferable.

Parents of students are welcome to contact us via email prior to their child’s eye examination to discuss any issues or concerns, or following the child’s eye examination to discuss the results or recommendations further.
